Triumph the Dog needs a home
Meet Triumph! Triumph wound up at the shelter covered in old and fresh wounds, all of which were badly infected. He was malnourished, his teeth worn down and nearly half of his upper lip had been torn off. He had all the classic signs of being used as a bait dog.
Despite his injuries, Triumph remains a sweet and affectionate boy. He is very smart and is food motivated. He has such a silly personality that you just can't help but fall in love with him! He loves to cuddle and give kisses and especially loves belly rubs! Triumph is a homebody. He is not a "dog park" type of dog or a go everywhere with you type of dog. He would do best in a mellow, easygoing home, one with no children or older children only. He's happy going on walks with you but will be just as happy playing in the back yard. Followed by snuggling on the couch, of course ;)
Triumph lives with other dogs but like most bait dogs, other dogs can make Triumph uncomfortable. He seems to do best with mellow females or would do well as an only dog. He was in a foster home with chickens and had no reaction.
Triumph needs a family who will understand and respect his past traumas, while encouraging his confidence and of course, providing unconditional love. He has come a long way in his short life and we know he will make one lucky family very happy.
