Red the Cat needs a home
Quirky, Playful, Cat-tastic Red is the real deal. The casual cat lover may find her temperament baffling. But, a kitty aficionado will recognize and appreciate the magic this alluring beauty has to offer. If you understand and embrace the qualities that distinguish felines from canines, and from mere humans, please read on! Red was surrendered when she didn't get along with her adopter's dog. Her odyssey then took her to a foster home with kittens and an adult cat that she found intolerable. Now she's in a foster home where at last she feels safe and can be her persnickety, yet lovable, self. She's garnered the nickname "Caldonia" by her fosters after the jump blues song about madly loving a beautiful, challenging, endearing woman. So apropos! Red takes time to adjust to a new environment and winning her over takes effort and patience. But, once she settles in and is comfortable, she is an exquisite pleasure who enjoys the company of people she trusts. She gets lonely if she isn't given attention and will sometimes come to you for petting. Other times she's just not in the mood and will walk away if you try to pet her or notify you of her disdain with a polite hiss. Over time you'll get a feel for her preferences. If you respond accordingly, she'll show you her endearing, quintessential kitty love...a mixture of approval and annoyance...simply irresistible! You'll also discover a relaxed girl who enthusiastically plays, contently catnaps for hours and who serenely stares out the window in all her fluffy magnificence. She also uses a scratching post and scratch pad regularly. Red needs to be the only pet in a home with one or two cat-savvy adults only. She likes to get her way and she's not interested in compromising. But, if you understand and accept that being hissy, grumpy and growly at times and being charming, friendly and playful at others is what makes a cat, well... a cat, then my friend, Red may be just the kitty for you. If you'd like to set up a meet and greet with this intricate and awesome girl, contact us today. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip.
