Adopt a Shepherd / Mixed (short coat)
Opal the Dog needs a home
When you meet Opal, you can't help but sing, "Leader of the Pack". This girl has 1st Born written all over her. No matter which siblings she is with, she is in charge. It is the cutest thing.
Opal is one of the puppies in our Hee Haw litter. Mama, Minnie Pearl, had her litter of nine shepherd mix puppies under a neighbor's trailer home. This turned out to be a good thing, when that home owner agreed that the puppies needed to be rescued, not left to try to survive in the dirt. Mom was emaciated and could not raise the litter without help.
This is where Take Me Home Rescue Volunteers jumped in to help feed and care for the puppies along side Minnie Pearl.
The babies have now been weaned and are ready to find Forever Homes of their own. Opal seemed to always be the most snuggly and willing to seek out the humans in the room for some love.
Opal is loving her time in a foster home where she has siblings to play with, older resident dogs and a big family who is always willing to snuggle. She is going to make a fabulous member of the family. Opal has really bonded with the older resident dogs and we believe she would do best in a Forever Home where she has an older canine sibling.
For our puppies, we require someone home more than not. Whether it is a stay at home parent or a work from home parent . . . these babies need lots of love and training throughout the day. We are looking for kids who are old enough to understand puppy behavior and are experienced in handling a small animal carefully and respectfully.
If you would like to meet Opal or her litter mates, please fill out a no-obligation Adoption Application on our website, so we can get the process started. tmhpr.com/adopt
