Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Shepherd / Mixed (short coat)
Roadie the Dog needs a home
Meet ROADIE!!
Roadie is a 5-6 month old, 18 pound, neutered male mix breed. Our guess is a shepherd, lab, or black mouth cur blend.
We first saw Roadie in a restaurant parking lot off the highway while on a transport. The gentleman with him said he had been dumped in his neighborhood, and he was taking him to the pound. We knew what that most likely meant, and brought him back to Lytle with us. He was starving and craved attention.
Roadie is active and likes to be with his people. He loves the other dogs in his foster home, but isn't a fan of the kitties. He would love to have an active, outdoorsy family to keep him happy. He is quite the climber and would do well with a hiker or walker. He can be quite energetic and may be too much for small children. He is progressing with potty training, but will require additional training as he likely lived the first few months of his life outside. He does well in a crate.
Roadie is current on vaccinations and flea and heartworm preventive, and is micro-chipped. He comes with a health certificate to travel.
Roadie's preferred home has a secure fenced in yard he can play in supervised, a canine playmate, and because he is high energy and active, no kids under 6 please.
Roadie is currently in a foster home in San Antonio TX and can be transported to your area once adopted. All adopters must meet requirements.
Roadie is available through Lytle Animal Allies, a 501c3. His adoption fee is $185, and transport fee to the East coast via Rescue Road Trips is $185.
