• Prior to adoption all horses will have received routine dewormer, Coggins blood test and vaccines as well as maintaining teeth and hoof care.

ADOPTION PROCESS:  The first step to our Horse Adoption process is to complete and submit a questionnaire located on our website at www.petangelsrescue.org.  Once the questionnaire is reviewed and you are approved, an Adoption Contract will be completed at the time of placement.  Please review the contract prior to completing a questionnaire so you understand the terms of the contract agreement.


Please note that these horses are located in the Oklahoma City / Guthrie, OK area, so we prefer any potential adopters to be within a reasonable distance for transport, at least no more than 2 hours outside of the OKC area. Completing an Adoption Questionnaire does not guaranty an approval for adoption. We make our best effort to ensure the horses that we have cared for go into qualified homes.


We have a STRICT NO BREEDING clause, and all horses are gelded before they leave the rescue, if they are of age. If not, you will be required under the contract agreement, to do so.  The Adoption Contract requires that if you can no longer care for or do not want to keep the horse that it MUST be returned to Pet Angels Rescue. You will agree, via the contract, that you will not REHOME OR SELL the horse.  This is a contract requirement to prohibit any Pet Angels horse from going into another abusive, neglectful situation OR going to an auction/slaughter.  We require the ability to do site checks on the horse(s) in addition to the adopter updating Pet Angels from time to time to verify that the horse is being cared for per the information provided in the questionnaire and contract.  If you have any questions please email us using the email provided on our website.
