Are you looking for a sweet, talented, affectionate pup? Well look no further than APA's resident movie Starr! With her love for attention, she loves to live life in the spotlight. You should see her break out into wiggles and wags when her volunteer friends bring out the costumes! Pay Starr a visit and you'll see that she lives up to her name. She does her own stunts, especially in the play yard when she's chasing after balls and catching them with ease in mid-air! She also loves to act out love scenes with her human pals. Lean in for some kisses and you've got a friend for life! Her theatrics are rewarded with treats, which she will happily accept! Off stage, she loves to cuddle and roll over for belly rubs. Starr is working on adding more tricks to her playbook and is in the Total Obedience Program. The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Starr has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help her learn the skills to become the best dog she can be! Starr is now TOP Dog Ready, which means she has already learned all the skills in her training plan, including sit and down, walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers, calmly walking past another dog, staying in a sit or down until told "free," and coming when called. Starr has worked hard to become a wonderful pet and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Starr after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together.
