Domestic Short Hair Cat

Bentley the Doorman the Cat needs a home

Don't worry. Your house hasn't been burglarized. It's just Bentley. OK, so who taught him this trick? He can open doors that have the lever-type handles! Whether they open out or open in (yep, he can even pull the door BACK once he has the lever down!), no door is safe from his curiosity. He EVEN opened the door of our Petco-Gilroy Adoption Center, and had a field day with three of his feline buddies cruising the store overnight. This proves how smart he is. Or maybe it's mischievous instead. As he grew-up and got taller, Bentley figured-out how to open these doors because he's so curious about what's on the other side. Then once inside, it's, "Harrumph, nothing in here I like," and off he goes to his next door. So better invest in some bungie cords to keep your doors closed if you're the person lucky enough to take this incredibly fun kitty home. Bentley's a typical kitty, very playful, inquisitive, and happy-go-lucky. He has a very sweet and mellow personality that will just melt your heart, and he gets along well with the other kitties in his foster home. He's the best of both worlds, because he can be very loving one minute, then off to entertain himself the next. He's independent and smart enough to find things to do on his own, but he often can be found racing the Indianapolis 500 with his fostermates as they tear around the house like banshees, or engage in a quick game of indoor hockey with a bottlecap. After an afternoon of fun and adventure, Bentley settles into his favorite bed for a lllooonnnggg catnap, often on his back with all four legs in the air, and twisted into a half-moon pose that makes his foster mom say, "Ouch, how can he sleep like that???" With all his fun antics and endearing personality, he'll give you miles of smiles throughout his lifetime. Adopting a young adult is a 10-20 year commitment, is beneficial because their personality is already developed, and will provide many years of love, devotion, entertainment, and companionship. Bentley's ideal human companions are those who crave the fun, energy, joy, and inquisitiveness of a young adult kitty, and will happily include him in their daily activities. He'll do best in an active home with another pet (hopefully with one of his fostermates) to keep him company. With a loving family, he'll be a wonderful and constant companion for many years. Born in March 2012, Bentley is a black and white tuxedo DSH male, is neutered, fully vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies), tested negative for FeLV, dewormed, deflead, and microchipped for identification. He uses the litterbox and scratching post, and must be indoors-only. Please contact Bentley's foster mom at [email protected] or call
