Adopt a Domestic Short Hair / Siamese / Mixed
Cici the Cat needs a home
Cici was first posted on Facebook by a woman who saw him while driving to work. She could tell something was wrong with him but didn't know what. One of our volunteers wanted to try to find him and thankfully after aimlessly driving up and down the street he was stopped on she found him! He was being fed by a man who had seen him on and off for 3 years. He would come around for a while then disappear and come back in bad shape, he thought due to fighting, Sometimes he came back with his fur shaved and groomed in the lion cut. This time he was covered in mange and his eyes were basically swollen shut. Thankfully since Cici knew the man he was able to lure him into a carrier without too much resistance. Once at our center he started treatment immediately, Unfortunately, the infection in his one eye was so bad the eye ruptured and it had to be removed. Cici was neutered at the same time and also tested for Feline Aids and Leukemia. More bad news for Cici - he tested positive for Feline Aids. Many people do not realize cats with and without the virus can live together once sterilized and if nonaggressive, but are afraid to do so. Cats with aids can live long, healthy lives with proper care and staying indoors. Cici is adjusting to all that has happened to him in the past few months. He is starting to feel better and seems to enjoy some attention, but lets you know when he has had enough! We would love to find Cici a home where he will be pampered and loved for the rest of his days. He no longer has to wander the neighborhood for food and can rest easy in a loving, forever home. Come in to meet Cici at our adoption center open 6 days a week from 12-5pm, closed Tuesdays.
