Adopt a Labrador Retriever (medium coat)

Meet sweet Momma Ray! She is a 57lb, spayed female black lab. For 7 years she has lived her life as a farm dog – then her owner lost the farm through foreclosure. Momma's world was turned upside down. Momma was afraid to walk up steps and was not housebroken. She wasn't even interested in treats. All of that has changed!

In this short amount of time she’s been with us, Momma has learned to walk up both the deck and inside stairs, has not had one accident (or even a close call), and doesn't bark when people come to the house. She rests quietly in the kitchen or TV room and is now eating food from a bowl instead of off the ground like she did on the farm. She's learned that dog treats ARE in fact quite good, and she will now sit (usually) to get a milkbone!

Momma is not rough, rowdy, or destructive in any way. She loves to be petted and patted – and shows me her appreciation by vigorously wagging her tail and wiggling her backside! She is an angel. So gentle. So accepting. So appreciative. So smart. I can see her true personality emerging a little bit more every single day. I think that soon, I will be adding playful and curious to that list of adjectives!

Life is so different from living on the farm, but I am adjusting and learning to appreciate this new world. Most of all, I am truly looking forward to meeting my forever family and bringing joy and happiness into their lives! Could that be you?!
