Adopt a Hound / Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Danica Patrick  was found as a stray in Chicago Illinois. She is a hound dog mix with the cutest floppy ears and long legs. She loves everyone she meets and gets a long great with other dogs big and small. Not sure about Kitty Cats but we think she will be fine with them also. She has a human foster brother that is  7 and she loves to play and sleep with him, She is potty trained and fully vetted. She is just looking for her forever family. Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption fees are $250 for dogs that are 1 year and older. $300 for puppies under 1 year. Included in the adoption fee: All animals will be fully vetted, micro chipped and spayed or neutered. (Deposit of $50.00 required if they are not old enough to have the surgery) Renter’s will be required to submit a copy of their lease agreement to verify Landlord and also All Fosters and Adopters that have personal animals must be spayed / neutered. Age appropriate and healthy enough for surgery, we will verify that with the reference call to your Veterinarian.

We are 100% volunteer operated and will process your application within a few days to a week depending on volunteer availability. We will be checking with your veterinarian and personal references, please let them know ahead of time. Applicants will be interviewed and require a home visit before being approved to adopt or foster a dog from GOTGM.
