Adopt a Husky / Boxer / Mixed (short coat)
Maxx the Dog needs a home
Working in animal rescue can be really difficult. Just when you think you've seen it all, something worse shows up. Maxx was that something. A woman who was turning in a dog to the shelter mentioned that she had a friend who kept a dog in a small crate behind his house and never let him out. She took me to the house and convinced the owner to let me have the dog. They led me to the backyard where a large skeletal dog was caged in a 24 inch wire crate without food, water or anything to shield this dog from the elements. A cement block held the cage down. He was so thin it made you cry. His beautiful white coat was stained with urine and feces. Despite the man's comments that the dog was not friendly, we took him to the shelter and cared for him. He became a happy, goofy, dog who was thrilled to be out of his cage! He was a good boy from the start, but is now in our prison program getting obedience training. He beautiful white coat is a testament to their care. Maxx deserves the best home! He is now available for adoption to a good and loving home. If you have a lot of love to share with a best friend please adopt one of our wonderful pets. All pets are up to date on shots, have been dewormed, and treated for fleas/ticks.
