Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Domestic Short Hair (short coat) Cat

Gus the Cat needs a home

Gus was confiscated from a very crowded home, and some crazy times at the shelter have left their shadow over him.  However, Gus is a very resilient young man.  He is slowly coming out of his shell and enjoys being petted and given treats.  He has a very delicate meow that he uses to let you know that he wants attention.  He's still nervous of people standing up and moving around, making sudden motions or trying to pick him up, but he will walk up to someone sitting quietly.  He's not a lap cat, but that could very well change in time.  What he needs is a stable home where he can build confidence and trust.  Ideally, this would be his forever home, so he doesn't have to start all over again.

Gus's old home included many cats and a few dogs of various sizes.  In his current foster home, he lives with two other cats, including Dash, who was confiscated with him.  Gus and Dash have become very bonded and would ideally go home together.  Both are good with the other cat, but have not been around dogs since confiscation.  Gus will probably not do well with children unless they are quiet and respectful.  Right now, Gus lives in one room of his foster house.  In a permanent home, where he can be part of the regular activities of the house, he will probably blossom into a very sweet cat, given time to adjust.

Gus's adoption fee of $50.00 includes his neuter, microchip, FIV and FLV test, and current Rabies vaccine.  Gus and Dash can be adopted together for a reduced adoption fee.
