Fitzy the Dog needs a home
Fitzy, formerly Bruno, was returned to us when the family realized the children in the home were not treating him well~ Poor guy was played with very roughly as a puppy, and as result, he sees kids as threatening and scary:( He also became protective of the adults in the home and bonded with just one person. Due to prior home experiences, we reccommend a calm adult home with an experienced owner who will continue to model pack order and a loving, alpha role. A home with a single person is best. Understandably, Fitzy is nervous and shy in new situations and takes a bit to warm up to you. Once he does, he is a great dog and is very sweet. He goes out in a play group with other dogs at our center. Here, with the kennel manager, Fitzy is wonderful because she's always alpha with the dogs here. He looks to her for direction at all times when they are walking, and she hardly use a leash because he listens that well to her. He acts fearfully/shy if you move too quickly as result of the treatment he received in his former home. Fitzy would do best in a single person home because he does get very nervous out of fear, not aggression. He is looking for a 2nd chance with an owner willing to show him that people are trustworthy, gentle, and loving~

Bruno and his siblings were found on the side of the road with a sign saying "Free Puppies." A volunteer saw them and brought them to us. They were in bad shape and were covered in fleas. They are now feeling better and have a lot of energy! These pups had a rough start to their life and need a second chance to find their forever home!
