Adopt a Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed

A VERY ACTIVE GAL:  3 years old / 19 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption facility is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm. Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week. I’m a fun-loving, active girl with awesome ears which are, ‘the better to hear you’ with! I’m super-athletic & love to catch things in mid-air! I can jump high & maybe I’d be a good Frisbee or agility dog as I’m always ready to learn something new! I’m looking for a family that will be very active with me, although once I’ve had good exercise I’ll settle into a doggie bed, or next to you on the couch for some bone or toy chewing time. I love a warm blanket right out of the dryer, in a central area or the home, so I can rest but not miss anything. But, I’m always ready for my next adventure, even after a full day of exercise! I love car rides, walks, hikes & maybe even some runs with you! Speaking of toys & bones, I think of them as “mine only”, so I do need continued training not to be possessive of them and I shouldn’t ever have squeaky toys as they make me especially possessive. I know ‘sit’, ‘come’ & have also learned ‘drop it’ when it’s time to let go of my toys except with squeaky ones. That command will come in handy with toys & bones, so keep reinforcing it with me! I’m also looking for a family that will be good leaders to me & follow the guidelines that work with me. I became possessive of one person in my previous home & bit the other person in the home, so allowing me to become possessive of you cannot be allowed in my new home! I’m very expressive in the barking department, so I should not live in an apartment/condo type home or your neighbors may get a little upset with us & we don’t want that. I keep my crate/room clean on the shelter schedule, & have been in several homes for extended visits who have also reported that I’m good on a schedule. I’m nervous with loud noises like thunderstorms & fireworks, but a nice soft blanket & a quiet spot in a small room calms me down nicely. I’ve reacted strongly to the dogs I’ve met at the MM shelter, so I may do best as your only dog.  However, MM has a trainer working with me now, and I hope to learn to be more accepting as time goes by. I met a very nice kitty at MM’s, and I was good with her, so with proper introduction, I may do well with a kitty cat. I walk well on a leash and like it when people approach me calmly & quietly, instead of overly excited. Please don’t come from behind or try to touch my belly until I am comfortable with you—I just need time & patience.  I don’t love going back into my kennel as it’s so boring in there & I like action, so be sure to give me toys to stay occupied! No kids please since I’m possessive of my toys & can be possessive of my person, as I don’t want to bite anyone, especially a child that may make a mistake with me. Energy level: 8–9+. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed & my adoption fee is $275.00.
