Adopt a Doberman Pinscher / Mixed
Kobi - Sponsor Me! the Dog needs a home
Breed: Doberman mix
Approximate Age: 2 years
Approximate Weight: 50lbs
Currently living at: Long-term foster. Kobi needs sponsors to support her ongoing training and medical needs.
Kobi is a gentle and sweet soul who has faced some challenges in her young life. She came to the DC PAWS family in 2016, and although she had previously been adopted, Kobi was returned to our care with some physical and behavioral health challenges, including significant fear of strangers and gastrointestinal issues. She has made some wonderful progress since coming back to us, and is living with a foster who has been committed to helping her get healthy, and to allowing Kobi opportunities for behavioral modification through counterconditioning, desensitization, medication. Kobi's foster has been giving her a stable and loving foster home, where she is consistently given opportunities for enrichment. Kobi's foster has been working with the support of our resident trainer, as well as a veterinary behaviorist, to support her health needs.
Kobi is doing very well in her foster home. However, she is not currently being placed for adoption. If you would like to support Kobi, please consider becoming a sponsor. Your tax-deductible donation will support DC PAWS in covering costs for veterinary and training-related expenses associated with her ongoing care.
If you are interested in sponsoring Kobi, please donate online at https://dcpawsrescue.org/donate/.DC PAWS Rescue does our best to provide accurate and complete information about our adoptable animals. Please note that we cannot make any guarantees about age or breed; we rely upon our rescue partners and their veterinarians to make those assessments. We also cannot make any guarantees about housebreaking and animal temperament, as animals can behave differently through transition and in different environments.
Our shelter partners provide a basic vet screening for each animal we rescue, which includes necessary vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and spay/neuter (unless the animal is too young or otherwise deemed by the vet to not be a good candidate for surgery). Please note that this is not a comprehensive medical exam and as such, may not identify any and all medical issues, though our goal is to flag any obvious health issues through the basic vet screening. We share all medical records with adopters and flag any known issues prior to adoption finalization.
About DC PAWS Rescue
Our rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based dog and cat rescue in the DC area. We rescue from rural areas in the south, as well as local DC area shelters, such as Prince Georges County, MD and Wicomico County, MD.

BE A SPONSOR:
For any of our animals! Sponsors help us provide critical medical care, food, boarding and other support for animals facing euthanasia. Individuals who sponsor a dog or cat receive special recognition on the animal's profile. Sponsorships can also be made in honor or memory of a loved one, and you may designate to whom DC Paws Rescue should provide notice of your gift.
