Adopt a Poodle (Standard) (long coat)
Freddie the Dog needs a home
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.

Date into Rescue: 12/11/2017
Reason for being in rescue: Owner release/ Behavioral issues
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Some behavioral issues per previous owner - needs training and guidance, prefer an only dog home
Weight: Estimated 40 lbs
Height: Estimated 22 in at the shoulder
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $499
Fence needed? Yes, I am full of energy and need plenty of room to bounce around.
What kind of home would be best for me? I would do best in an adult only home with owners that are experienced with behavioral issues. . I would greatly benefit from extra training and someone to have a lot of patients with me while I learn to trust again. I would love to have a hiking or running partner.
What is my personality like? You can just call me Mr.Personality. I prance around this place like I own it! Confidence is key. What led me to the farm is my previous owners could no longer deal with some of my behavior issues. They sent me to a trainer- I did well with her.. but once back in my home environment I took 2 steps back. I can be reactive towards new people and mainly dogs. I am extremely athletic, I could run until the cows come home! Give me a football and the outdoors and I am as happy as can be. Food and toys is what motivates me, I will nearly do anything for those. I know my basic commands but since I am so bouncy it can be hard to get me to concentrate. I really need a home where my wild spirit and energy is welcomed with opened arms. And remember - in poodle years I am still a puppy. I am a great boy I just need for someone who understands me to be patient and let me prove myself.
How do I act when I first meet new people? I bark at new people and sometimes will lunge but, if you are patient with me I warm up quickly.
Other tips and tidbits: I was released to CPR due to me being aggressive towards new people and other dogs in previous home. I've met so many people here that I am starting to understand there are a LOT of people in this world and I don't need to bark at them all.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
