Adopt a Hound / Pointer / Mixed

Mostly Mutts adoption facility is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  I’m a very puppyish young dog who is sweet, loves attention, and lots of playing!  It appears that I was terribly neglected, left in a crate a lot and malnourished as a puppy.  As a result, I have a funny little walk, with the cutest wiggle you’ve ever seen. After x-rays, the vet could see some abnormalities in some growth plates and joints, but I don’t let it get me down, I’m a lively and happy dog.  (just ask for details about that if you’re interested in making me a part of your family) I’m very curious, interested in new things and like being active. I love to play with the dogs I’ve met so far, so if you have one, let’s meet to see if we can be great friends, especially if they are young and energetic like me! I really like playing with toys too and can keep myself occupied for a long time with them. I’ve been very quiet and well behaved in my crate, but I really prefer to be out and playing. I’d love to sleep with you and I sleep quietly all night, so if that’s allowed at your house, I’ll be a very good girl! I know how to ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘lie down’ and ‘come’ when I’m called. I also know how to ride quietly in the backseat of a car. Right now, I’m working on my leash manners and learning how to walk on a harness. I love going for walks and my trainer is helping me learn how to contain my enthusiasm for all the fun things we see at the park. I’m so friendly and outgoing that I what to say ‘hi’ to everyone!  I’ve had some potty accidents on the shelter schedule and some in my foster home, and I’m working on my potty manners now, so please help me finish learning that--praise and consistency should help me along.  I may develop arthritis earlier than some dogs but starting me on Glucosamine now is a good idea and it’s very inexpensive. I can manage stairs—I sort of bunny hop up and down as I go, and it doesn’t bother me. I’m looking forward to having a great family that will make up for my tough start to life, and one that will meet all my needs, train me and always love me! Older kids as I am still learning how to contain my excitement to play. Energy level: 6-8. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed and my adoption fee is $275.00.
