Brindle Cur/Collie mix pups the Dog needs a home
For Adoption:This litter's mama is a Collie/Shepherd mix and the daddy is a Catahoula/Cur mix. The pups were born on October 17, 2017. The pups and their daddy had what looked to be sarcoptic mange to the owners. The owners purchased an over the counter product to use on them. The puppies condition did not improve and they got much worse. When they were turned over to our rescue partner Janie in TN they were mostly hairless, covered in bloody infected scabs, dehydrated, and too weak to walk. The veterinarian treated them for a skin infection with antibiotics, a medicated bath, and a topical treatment that controls sarcoptic mange, fleas and intestinal paracites. The treatment that the owners used was not labeled to be used on young puppies, but it must have killed the mange mite, because they tested negative for mange with the skin scraping. Janie, their foster mom, truly saved these pups. In a few days they were breaking out of their pen, tearing around her house, and unwrapping Christmas gifts! They are 9 healthy puppies now, and are already beginning to grow their fur back and are not itchy anymore.
