Adopt a Boxer / Hound / Mixed (short coat)
Gracie Lou the Dog needs a home
Gracie’s foster mom calls her “Gracie Lou Freebush” (from the Miss Congeniality movies) because she is a little bit rough around the edges but she is a pretty girl who tries hard to please. Gracie is a 3 year old 53#, Boxer x Hound mix. Gracie was rescued from a high kill shelter in Louisiana and is now healthy and ready for a forever home up North. She is housetrained and crate trained. Gracie pulls a bit on leash but is getting better… she would likely benefit from a halti or gentle leader for walks. She knows how to sit for a treat (and she looooooves treats). She loves everyone she meets and even gets excited about going for outings to the vet. Gracie is excellent with kids and has been around ages 4-13. Her size and energy level may not be a match for small children though. The other dogs in Gracie’s foster home aren’t very playful but she has play dates with a friend’s Labrador and they play non-stop. Gracie has not been tested with cats. Gracie’s foster mom says, “She is a bundle of goofy energy who would prefer an active home. She loves to play and chase bugs in the yard. She gives tons of kisses and never turns down the chance for a belly rub. While she is playful, she mostly loves to just be with her people and can be found under my feet while I cook dinner.”
Gracie is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and current on monthly heartworm/flea prevention. Upon rescue, she did test positive for heartworm but she breezed through treatment and is now heartworm free and ready for her forever home...please email us at [email protected] to apply for Miss Gracie Lou..:)
