Adopt a Beagle (short coat)
Gertie the Dog needs a home
Gertie is one of 6 beagle that came into our care after they were surrendered to the local shelter. Not unlike most beagles not kept as pets, Gertie is soaking up her new life as an indoor pet that is treated as part of the family. She gets along with her foster parent's dog and loves to go on walks. This gal has not see the best life, but she is ready for a new one.
Sweet Gertie unfortunately did not receive the proper vet care that she deserved in her prior environment, and has tested heartworm positive. Heartworm treatment is included in the adoption at no extra cost to the adopter, and an approved adopter local to New Orleans, may take her during treatment to be done at one of our vets, if they wish.
Current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative.
If you are interested in giving Gertie a new life where she is loved dearly, please complete a
Dog Adoption Application
Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).

Local adoptions (within Greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes). We do not ship animals, as a part of our adoption process is for the potential adopter(s) to meet the dog to assess if he/she is a match for the family.
