Snaggle the Dog needs a home
Snaggle was turned into the local shelter as a stray, and we can't imagine anyone not coming for a pup that has been a loyal companion for so many years. But, Snaggle's many birthdays were not well-worn when we first took him into our care. He had not received regular dentals, if any, and his teeth were so abscessed that the infection had spread to his jaw. Humane euthanasia would not have been a far-fetched option, but this sweet boy was insistent on doling out stinky kisses and literally begged to be held and cried to be taken home as we walked out of his room at the shelter. We could not bear to leave him, and made the decision to give him a chance at the life he deserves in his later years. With all the fight in his little body, he pulled through the dental procedure to resolve the infection and pain he must have been feeling and he has recovered and is ready for his forever home.
Snaggle's missing teeth have left him with a perpetually poked out tongue that we find endearing. He is best suited for a home that is committed to the regular veterinary care and sometimes extras that seniors require down the line, just like all dogs will as they enter their golden years. Though he has been kind to children, he would thrive in a home that is more laid back than one with young children or toddlers. And though he lives in a foster home with other dogs, he would best be served by a home without the competition of many other dogs vying for his human's attention.
Snaggle is current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He is current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative. Snaggle has tested heartworm negative.
