Oreo - FIV+ the Cat needs a home
Oreo's caregiver worked to get hold of him again and he soon willingly hobbled back into her home through the open front door. He was immediately transferred to Cat Shack. His leg wound was evaluated by the vet and fortunately found to be only a soft tissue injury from a probable fight. A week or so later, safely inside in Cat Shack foster care, Oreo began to put weight back on the injured leg. Now, a few more weeks later, Oreo no longer knows there was ever a problem! He is fully weight-bearing and happily climbs up and down to and from the highest level of a very tall cat tree. He now also shares living quarters with two other FIV+ cats, all of whom got along perfectly with one another right from their first introduction.
Oreo is a gentle fellow who loves and wants human attention. He loves to be petted by his foster Mom and will often flop down to try to get a belly rub also. He can easily be picked up and seems destined to be a lap cat once given that opportunity. He loves canned food and his favorite activity is sitting high up on that cat tree, looking out the window at all that is going on outside.
Oreo has no symptoms of his FIV and many FIV+ cats live long, happy lives with proper care. Oreo will excel as a companion cat in a reasonably calm home as an only cat or as a buddy to one or more FIV+ cats. He has a lot of love to give. Please consider giving some of yours to him.
