Adopt a Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Is it possible you have a home in need of a dog? Well, Duke is the one for you. Mr. Duke has done amazingly well fitting in with the 2 kids and 2 other dogs at his foster home - things can get pretty loud and crazy around there and he takes everything in stride. He has never had an accident in the house and does fantastic with his kennel - even hangs out in there without prompting. He doesn’t get on the couch or bed, but cuddle if you’d let him, he is so soft - you have to feel to believe it! He loves his ears and jaw scratched, and will quickly offer up his belly for some love too. Other than his grey hairs, you would never guess that he is 11 yrs old. He loves playing with the female dog in the house and gets along just fine with the other male pup. This dog has a HUGE personality. He is constantly rearranging the remotes and socks of the household, loves hanging out in the kitchen while dinner is being made and just enjoys being outside watching and sniffing everything, although he will bark when he’s bored or ready to come inside. Duke of Hazzard is very food driven and has a couple puppy habits (i.e. taking food from the counter and not wanting to come in from outside ) which can be easily managed with consistent training and time. He is very opportunistic when it comes to escaping, so a second barrier would be a great idea or at least precaution with open doors. He would love being in a home with another dog that he could run around with for 3-5 minutes and then sleep for the rest of the day. He gets along get with kids, as he has always been around them, though he is best with school aged children as the littles tend to be a little rough, although he is VERY VERY patient with the toddler in the foster home This lovely boy is ready for his next adventure.
