Gunnar Texas the Dog needs a home
Gunnar was pretty frightened when he first arrived in NJ from farm life in Texas but he is coming out of his shell and gaining more confidence. He now approaches new people more quickly, tail wagging, although he may still be a bit hesitant at first.
Being 1.5 years old, Gunnar is playful, goofy and the tail is constantly wagging. He really enjoys the company of other dogs and must go to a home with at least one other confident dog.
Gunnar is now crate trained and sleeps in a soft crate. He is getting used to riding in the back of the car in a soft crate, too. He is housebroken and has learned to ring bells hanging from a doorknob to go outside & do his business.
Gunnar is becoming less scared of big trucks and loud noises - his foster family is working on this with him & he is improving, but he still feels most comfortable on his own property or in his own home. We feel that he absolutely needs a home with a fenced yard where he can run around daily.
Gunnar just wants to please you so he’s very trainable. He walks well on a leash now & has proven to be good at following commands: Come, Sit, Wait, Stay. He even tolerates, bathing, and nail clipping well, but the loud dryers scare him.
Again Gunnar is a total joy and he will make a family very happy! Please consider adopting Gunnar. If you'd like to meet Gunnar, please fill out an application at https://northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for GUNNAR TEXAS!
