Adopt a Chihuahua (short coat)
GORDO the Dog needs a home
United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed below.
Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue.

A5145703 Gordo is a gentlemanly 4-year-old blonde-and-white neutered male Chihuahua whose owner left him at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on January 25th because they moved and did not make plans for him. Weighing 10 lbs, Gordo is understandably overwhelmed in the noisy shelter environment. He is frightened when in his kennel, but with slow, gentle assurance, he warms up and does not want to be separated from whoever is holding him. We expect that Gordo will feel much more confident and happy once in a home environment again. Gordo certainly brightens up when offered some roast beef! He gets along well with other small dogs (we did not have the opportunity to observe him with larger dogs). He prances politely on leash and seems to be housebroken. Sweet Gordo will be a darling companion whom we think will do best in households with tweens, teens, and adults.
