Domestic Short Hair (short coat) Cat

LAURIE the Cat needs a home

Laurie is a very sweet kitty who use to live on a farm until she had a little of kittens and couldn''t live there anymore. We accepted in her and her babies and she seemed to be doing great until she caught an upper respiratory system. It took her a little longer to get better than it does most kitties because Laurie is FIV postive. She has recovered wonderfully now and is looking for her forever home!

Laurie has tested positive for FIV, a virus that reduces the ability of a cat''s immune system to fight off other infections. FIV is NOT contagious to humans. However, can be contagious to other cats through biting, so FIV cats must live with other friendly cats they will not fight with, or other FIV positive cats.

FIV-positive cats live completely normal lives, and they are not considered anymore to have shortened life expectancies! They just need to be regular vet care, vaccinations, and immediate visits to the vet at any sign of illness?you can''t `wait out` a cold like you could with a FIV-negative cat. Laurie will have the best chance at a long life with an owner who can do the following:
*Keep him indoors to keep him from contacting an illness
*Monitor any changes in his health closely with regular vet visits and medications as needed
*Feed him a high-quality diet with lots of nutrients
