Adopt a American Staffordshire Terrier / American Bulldog / Mixed (short coat)

My name is Peaches and I'm a pretty, lively American Staffordshire Terrier/ Bulldog mix, at least that's what my DNA test said.   I was adopted and now, because of a change in the home, they have to give me up. They are really sad but think this is the best thing for me since I don't get the time and attention they think I deserve.  

I'm a very smart, affectionate girl and learn commands quickly.  At mealtime I've learned to sit and wait until I hear "OK."  I do the same when someone gives me a snack. You can probably guess by now that I'm really food motivated which makes training me easier.

I'm an active girl who likes to get exercised so I would do best in a home with an active family who can take me on runs, walks, and hikes.  You can even throw the ball for me if you have a secure, fenced in yard.  It has to be fenced because I like chasing things like smaller animals - that's why I don't think I would do well in a home with small dogs or cats.

I'd really like a home where I'm not left alone all day.  I like being around my people.  I'm a great dog in the car and I love going for rides, meeting people, and going places.  The pet store is one of my favorite places.  I don't have to have another dog in my new home, but if you do that's great.  I love to play with dogs though I've been told that I can play a little too rough - I can be corrected.  I also like to run!!  I run really fast which is why I think I would do better in a home with older kids.  I might accidentally knock down a little kid.  That would not make me happy!!

We went to  a six week training class with her as well as 2 private lessons.

She knows, here sit, down, turn, paw. She is well behaved for the groomer and walks well on a leash and halter (front clip).  She loves everyone she meets.  However, if she is let out in the yard (fenced) at night, she will want you to come out and play and will bark at the door then run away when you arrive. She loves other dogs, but may play too rough for tiny dogs.  Due to how excited she can get, I would not recommend small children.  She has a high prey drive, catches birds in mid fight, so I do think she may go after cats

If you want a running or walking partner, I'm the dog for you!!  I can keep up and because I like dogs and people you wouldn't have to worry about meeting others.
