?Ringo has been with ARR for over a year while we've addressed his medical and behavioral needs and is now about 4 years old. His years on the street took quite a toll on him physically and emotionally.  He really would love a home of his own with an EXPERT LEVEL cat person!  Ringo can not live with children or the elderly due to sporadic episodes of aggression. His physical injuries were treated and have healed but, unfortunately, an old injury to his front right paw had healed wrong and could not be surgically corrected so the leg was amputated.

His emotional wounds aren't so easily healed, however.  90 percent of the time Ringo is incredibly sweet and affectionate.  He enjoys nursing on blankets, kissing his foster parents' faces and cuddling in the bed at night.  He will do tricks for treats and will even jump from the floor into (sometimes unsuspecting) open arms.   But occasionally his former life comes back to haunt him and has been the only thing preventing him from being adopt.

Ringo has seen a cat behaviorist and has been diagnosed with "Fear aggression" and "Stress aggression" so it's of extreme importance that his forever humans are dedicated to providing him with an environment that will reduce his fears and stress.  It is also very possible that he was also experiencing some pain induced aggression.  Now that all of his previous injuries have been addressed and he's no longer in pain, we are exploring medications to help with his aggression issues.  His adopters will need to consult with a veterinarian regarding continued use of medications or changes in medications.

If you have questions about Ringo please email his foster mom directly at [email protected] or submit an application to adopt him!

As part of our 18 for 2018 campaign, Ringo's adoption fee is $25!

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
