Adopt a Domestic Short Hair / Mixed

Sweet Mabel was rescued from the St. Louis City Animal Control Facility. She had given birth to a litter of beautiful kittens. Many rescues rushed to get her kittens, especially the Seal Point and Lynx Point kittens. However, Stray Haven was the only rescue that was willing to save the kittens, and their sweet mommy. Mabel has the most beautiful green and hazel eyes, and her nose has an adorable, little, black heart-shaped birthmark on it
Mabel was undersocialized when I took her in as my foster; she had spent little to no time in a loving, home environment. She was very timid and not familiar with human contact and being loved. Even so, she was always gentle, and never hissed, or scratched. Over time, she has been coaxed out of her shell, and is now a healthy, happy, playful and loving member of the family. She continues to be very gentle, and extremely sweet. She loves to be petted, and reciprocates with head butts, and meows of gratitude. She is tolerant of my picking her up, cuddling, and kissing her. Mabel enjoys having other sweet kitties to play with. She would do best in a home with other cats and kittens that are gentle and loving, and do not present as alphas who are confrontational or aggressive. Mabel would also do well as an only cat if she was not left home alone for long periods of time. Ideally, her new owner would be would be a stay-at-home parent, worker, retired person, or a senior with a lot of love, and time, to give her. She has not been tested with children; perhaps older children, if any, in the home would be best. She is tolerant of my dog, who is sweet, gentle, and not aggressive towards cats. Mabel will need someone who is patient, loving, and willing to continue working with her in order for her to become the totally confident lady that has slowly been emerging. Mabel would bring immense love, friendship, comfort and joy to any person and home willing to open their heart and hearth to her.

All cats have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, are current on shots, flea treated, and dewormed. An adoption fee applies.
