Adopt a Chihuahua / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat)

 Penny is a sweet little dog who was given up by her former owners due to a death in the family. She is 6 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. She is currently living in a foster home in Fresno. She is a well adjusted dog who is used to living inside the house and needs very little training. She obeys when she is told what to do, she is house broken and doggy door trained and she walks well on a leash. She gets very excited when it's time for her daily walk. She is used to being around children, other dogs and cats. She seems to like everybody. You can trust her inside the house when no one is home. She's the independent type that, while she likes to spend time with you, she won't constantly be on your lap and bothering you. She sleeps quietly at the foot of the bed and doesn't wake up until you do. She is pretty quiet and doesn't bark much. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. If you're looking for a faithful companion and perfect family pet, we encourage you to make an appointment to meet Penny. If you can offer her the perfect home, we are willing to drive her to meet you if its within a few hours from Fresno. Her adoption fee is negotiable and allows us to continue to rescue and rehome other needy dogs and cats.

 All of our adoptable animal companions are in foster homes. Our adoption fee is negotiable and is comparable to the local adoption shelters in our area. We would like to determine that this pet will be a good fit for your family. Before you take home your new pet, a home visit is also required. If you live outside of the immediate area, we can still arrange a home visit. Our adoption/rehoming fee for each animal companion varies depending on a number of factors. HFHAF is run solely by volunteers so it may take us a few days to get back to you.
