Bulldog / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Mona the Dog needs a home

When we first met Mona, she was living as a stray in a dilapidated trailer park within our area. Not only was she suffering from flea infestation, hair loss and very underweight, she had also just had a litter of pups-and we could tell that it was not this poor girl's first litter. According to the people who contacted us about Mona, she had been homeless for quite some time, going from trailer to trailer in search of food and water on a daily basis but no one would offer her a place to live. She was, however, given temporary refuge by a very kind family right before we took her in and they reported that she did excellent around their young children and other dogs. She also exhibited some good house training skills.

Once we were able to take Mona in, we immediately gave her the care and love she needed. In return, she gave us love right back! And she is still a very friendly girl, has proven to be compatible around most other dogs and excellent with children of all ages. With a little house training refresher course, we think Mona will become an excellent family pet.

Mona is estimated to be 3 1/2 years old (as of Sept 2017); she's now been spay and had all of her vaccinations renewed as well. Unfortunately Mona recently tested positive for heart worms and is currently being treated using the Slow Kill method. Despite being positive, Mona is a happy, playful girl who deserves a home of her own.
