Trio the Dog needs a home
Trio got his name because he came to us with one hind leg amputated. It's not a new injury and to watch him run, you'd never guess he was working with one less limb than the usual dog. Trio is the nicest boy! He's a standard, a bit thin but working on getting some weight back on, and unfortunately Trio's previous life didn't include heartworm preventative. He tested positive, and also has a heart murmur, probably related to the heartworm infestation. Currently, Trio is on the "slow kill" plan, where the monthly preventative stops new adults from forming and the old ones die off on their own over time. It's easier on the dog than treatment with injections, and because Trio is so happy, full of energy, and otherwise healthy, we don't want to take any risks in treatement.
Trio is a very sweet boy- everyone who has met him loves him, and he is the most grateful pet ever- he loves living indoors, following his people and cuddling with them, wagging, and demonstrating how cute a boy can be! Trio: To know him is to love him is to want to adopt him!
