Standard Adoption Fee Adult Dog: $250 ea.  Puppy Adoption Fee: $300 ea. Reduced rates for Seniors dogs (10 and up).  Reduced rates for pairs (when adopted together).

Hello, my name is Scruffy. My foster mom named me Scruffy because that's how I looked when they found me. I was pretty beat up with a big gash on my ear. But I have recovered very well. The doctor says I am a young guy. I am a longhaired Dachshund-Yorkie mix, which is lovingly called a Dorkie. I love attention and want to be on your lap and loved on. I do very well with other dogs and play very well with them. I even have a friend who is a cat! I am good about letting you know that I need to go potty outside. I am crate trained but at night I will want a space in your bed. I am very smart and learn new things quickly, it wasn't very hard for me to figure out the dog door and ramps.  I'm looking for my forever home so if you think you would like to share your home and family with me, just fill out an application!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!
