Parker the Dog needs a home
Parker has made huge strides since coming into rescue. He has healed from his broken leg, been neutered, and had a dental. Parker is shy and reserved but wanting to interact more with people every day. He still prefers to be in his kennel but when that is not an option, he wags his tail, tries to play and gets excited. Parker still doesn't like being held but does like massages and neck scratches. He gets nervous when there is a hand reaching toward him and will run away. Parker does LOVE food and will come up to people with treats. Like most IGs, he’s curious about everything. Parker’s foster home thinks he's going to be a playful happy dog one day, but the adopter must realize that it's not going to happen overnight. He has "safe" places for him throughout the house (dog beds) and if he knows he can get to one if he gets scared, he's happy. Another dog is an absolute must for Parker, as he loves trying to play and takes all his cues from his foster dog siblings. He would do best with another IG and no big dogs. Parker is doing well with leash training and has made great progress with his potty habits when taken out on a schedule. He has some separation anxiety and is very vocal when he is left on his own. Parker will need a home without small children due to his fragility and shyness.
