There was a need in the area for a rescue where people could bring their animals, that through various reasons, needed to be surrendered. I have been involved most of my adult life in rescue of one kind or another. In Florida it was exotics (Florida panthers, lions, tigers, servals, wolves). I wanted to fill the local need in the area of poverty which led the abandon or death of unwanted animals. Owner deaths or moves led to other reasons. But above all, my love for the innocents led to my continued work of rescue and shelter.
