The mission of Duck Team 6 is “To reduce the street dog population through Capture, Placement, and Outreach.”
We are a 501(c) (3) non- profit organization that rescues dogs from the streets of Dallas. We are an all-volunteer group that captures hard-to-catch dogs that have lived their lives as strays. We are not a shelter so we rely on fosters and other rescue organizations to assist us until we can find permanent homes for the dogs we capture. We also provide full veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchips and vaccinations for our “Duck Dogs.”
Please keep in mind that your help is needed throughout the process. If you find a dog that you’ve been trying to catch and you request our assistance, please take the next step and help us find the dog a place to go (foster, rescue, home) once captured. If needed, we will gladly direct you to a list of rescue groups in the DFW metroplex. Please see our “Resources Tab” for additional information and DT6 Partner Rescue Groups listed. We are deeply thankful for your compassion and willingness to help a dog in need!
Special Note: DT6 performs captures during our spare time (evenings and weekends). As a result, we may not be able to “deploy” on extremely short notice. We will do our best to remain in contact with Good Samaritans requesting help until we can take action.
Duck Team 6 doesn’t just capture dogs! We have an excellent Community Outreach program that collects and delivers dog food and supplies each week to our communities in need. We are huge advocates of education and “litter prevention.” Several times a year, we host free vaccination days for the community dogs in need. We also deliver approximately 3,000 pounds of dog food each month to low-income areas of Dallas. Duck Team 6 also promotes and sponsors low cost or free spay/neuter surgeries to pet owners who could not afford to do so otherwise.
Semper Woof!
