HPHS was founded in 1987 and we rescue about 100 dogs and 200 cats per year. We are an all-volunteer organization and run a thrift store, called Second Chance, from which we adopt out animals and sell our low-cost spay and neuter certificates. We have about 10 volunteers, including a board of five. We do this because we have a passion to rescue orphaned and homeless animals and want to make life better for the "underdogs" in our county.
