The McKean County SPCA is a 501(c) status animal shelter in northern Pennsylvania. We are not state funded and operation almost entirely on donations.
We generally house about 60 dogs and almost 80 cats. We exist to help animals, and the well-being of the animals in our care is our top priority.
We are thier voice!
We take pride in the cleanliness of our shelter. We have 32 dog kennels and 76 cat kennels, which allows refuge for about 150 to 175 animals at any given time.
We do not practice euthanasia needlessly. We hold animals as long as we can and they are not "put to sleep" just because they haven't been adopted within a certain period of time. In fact, some animals are housed at the shelter for years before they are adopted.
