The Pet Adoption League offers these services to residents of Nevada County, California and its furry friends:

FREE spay/neuter for cats and kittens (tame and feral), dogs and puppies
A referral service for people placing or looking for pets
Pet food for people who are temporarily strapped for cash or who are feeding large colonies of cats or who don't drive
Help for seniors: veterinary expenses, transportation to the vet, pet food
Humane education program in the schools
Media coverage: working with local radio stations and newspapers to draw more visibility to homeless animals and to find them homes
Dog Obedience Rebates: PAL will reimburse 90% of basic dog obedience training for Nevada County residents who can't afford it.
Before classes start, advise PAL you have enrolled.
Pay for and attend all classes.
Obtain a certificate of completion.
Submit your original receipt and certificate to PAL along with proof the dog has been spayed or neutered.
"Woof Over My Head" program. PAL distributes cat and dogs houses during winter months to folks who can't afford to buy them.
