RUFF Rescue is a small grassroots rescue organization that came into existence almost two decades ago when a group of pet loving friends learned of the plight of puppymill dogs. Though the players and rescues have changed over the years, the goal has not. There is a perfect home out there for every abandoned and abused dog. The thing they all have in common is the need for unconditional love and patience, so that they may blossom into the amazing creatures they were meant to be.
RUFF Rescue is a foster based organization and with just a handful of loving and dedicated foster families, we have been able to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome over 1000 domestic animals. We have chosen to do our small part to help cull homelessness of pets in our community. This could not be done without the dedication and support of the amazing veterinarians that work to help heal the pets that come into our care.
We have no financial support except for the few benefactors that believe in what we are doing and the small adoption donations we receive when an animal in placed into it's forever home, but somehow we continue to survive and push forward.
Every RUFF Rescue dog has a story. Most of those stories come with a happy ever after ending, but unfortunately some do not. Sometimes, by the time a dog comes into our care, they have had a lifetime of abuse and neglect. Even the dog who is so ill that it cannot recover, deserves to have it's end of life experience be filled with love and compassion.
