I am a professional woman, a grandmother, who works from home, thus allowing me to take care of all my dogs. They are like my children. It is not like a rescue, but more like a bed and breakfast. They are treated as well as my own dogs. In August of 2012, I saw on Facebook all the dogs that had just been euthanized by a shelter in Arlington, TX. I was overcome with emotion. The next day was Saturday, and I drove 90 miles to that shelter, and asked to see the ones on the euth list for that day. I was told I could not see them. Well, they got the manager, who reluctantly led me into the back to see the dogs. I had picked out 4 on my list. I was told I could only see 2. Well I got to visit with one dog in the play yard, and saw the other 3 from a distance. I adopted all 4 of them on the spot. I paid for them out of my own pocket. They were all rehomed as soon as they were made healthy and happy again. That was the beginning of my adoptions. For 2 years I adopted those dogs that stole my heart, and I would find them homes. I then started rescuing (adopting) pregnant dogs or mamas and litters. I have successfully adopted out many litters. I have files on all of them. They still have my heart. So, now I have some adult dogs that I have had awhile. They deserve their own person, so I need exposure to help them get on with their lives.
