Adopt a Basset Hound

Basset Hound Dog

Ernie Banks the Dog needs a home

Hey there! My name’s Ernie Banks (my first family were Cubs fans; can you tell?) and it’s my pleasure to make your acquaintance!

I am a six-year-old basset that loves the typical basset things: sleeping, eating and going for walks. Did I mention I love sleeping? It’s one of my favorite things to do!

I also know some great tricks, like sit, lay down, stay, and when I say stay, I am really good at it. I’m also crate-trained and fully house-trained, so you don’t have to worry about any messes from me!

I am looking for a very special family that can work with me on some behavior challenges. I can get possessive and exhibit guarding behaviors around food and other objects on the floor. I need to find a home where the humans can be patient and work with me on my training. I have been very good in my foster home and BHRSC feels that I am now ready to be adopted by a special family that wants to continue with this. I promise, I will work to be a good boy if you give me a chance!

I would love to meet you, so come down to BHRSC and ask for Ernie! We will have a wonderful time together and can have lots of fun playing!  In fact, as my namesake would say, let’s play two!

Ernie is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $350.
