Adopt a Chihuahua

A SPECIAL NEEDS FELLOW:  5 years old / Currently 7-8 lbs. and needs to gain a little more  weight  The Mostly Mutts adoption facility is open Mon-Sat 11am-4pm. Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.   I am an adorable little fellow who needs a special someone or a family to love.  I have diabetes and do really well when I’m given my insulin injections twice a day and kept on the same twice a day eating schedule.  It’s not hard to do, and I’ve been cooperative with my caregiver too.  Same goes for the eye drops, I need twice daily for my cataracts.  I enjoy being with other dogs and just want to be one of the pack.  I also love to cuddle up on the couch with my human family members, and snuggle under a blanket.  If you hold me, I will make an adorable cooing sound, just like a baby.  In my foster home, I have reliable potty manners when you let me outside in a fenced yard, or take me out on a leash, first thing in the morning, after I eat, a couple of times during the day and before bed.  Just watch for birds of prey if you let me out in the yard, as I’m little and they may try to grab me.  I am also crate trained and when you say, “go to your crate,” I love to curl up in it and sleep there all night unless you invite me into your bed.  I have a beloved, favorite toy and I am very attached to it, so when I’m cuddling it, please don’t take it away or I may growl.  I may be nervous at first in a new home, but my foster parents can attest that I do adjust to new surroundings quickly, as long as you give me a chance and don’t rush me.  If you have a nice calm nature and a quieter type home, as well as a willingness to meet my medical needs, we’ll be so happy together!  Older, calm and gentle kids only as I may nip when I’m afraid or if you take my favorite toy from me.  Energy level: 3-5. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered and my adoption fee is $100.00.
