Whether he’s chewing on nyla

bones or going on a short walk, this tiny, shy 9-year old

 pup puts his heart into everything. 

He is truly a little 6-pound

 ball of sweetness.

Being timid and calm spirited, he sometimes builds up the courage to paw you for gentle attention if he feels he isn’t getting enough! Santana enjoys being in a low-key environment and one without small kiddos. He needs another dog friend to live with in his furever home and would like that friend to be smaller. At 6 pounds, a lot of things can be frightening! 

He continues to work on his confidence and other dog skills, including house breaking. He has been doing well on a routine and also hangs out in a pen when his foster mom is gone. This little guy has a voice on him and likes to bark during treat times or when strangers are around. He just liked to be heard!

Like many small pups, Santana has a bad back patella. He does fine with it and doesn't need to go on walks. If he does go on a walk, a short walk is ideal. Sometimes he will even cut it short and lie down and wait to be picked up. He knows that he has a high chance of being carried or put in a sling if that happens. Santana thinks he is a little king, and he may just be! Once he walked by some Cheez-Its that his foster mom didn't let him have, and he decided to throw a toddler fit. This little pup is so silly!

Once he loves his person, he truly is the sweetest boy. He has the happiest little tail and will cuddle right in next to you, if you are patient. Waiting for his love is very worth it.

Santana will grow to become more confident with a little patience and a lot of love. He hopes that love comes from you!

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
