Bonjour mes amis (Hello my friends). Je suis Fleur (I am Fleur). My name is French for flower and yes, I speak French! I am 3 years old and am indeed a sweet pup. With every tail wag and look of endearment, I will surely melt your heart. How is that for an intro?!

In keeping with my French name, I like to indulge in the finer foods like real fresh or freeze dried meat.  I am just fine with regular dry food, but definitely don't mind delving into the good stuff. Although I am learning to accept tiny treats (like Zukes), I am skeptical and still prefer real meat. I enjoy playing with furry toys that I can shake or chase. I’m as quiet as can be too and only bark when alarmed.

I have really blossomed in my foster home! I am a happy little girl with a wagging tail ready to jump up and give you kisses! I even have started to get comfortable with my the kids in my foster home, ranging in age from 5-10.  As long as they're calm I really like spending time with them. I've really come SO far! Once I am comfortable with my person, I am so very playful and energetic. I love being on the floor with you at my level getting pets, being gently brushed, ears rubbed, and just being coddled in general.

My training is in full swing. I am so close to being house broken. I am a quick study and eager to please. I am crate trained already though. I am learning commands for ‘kennel’ and ‘outside’.  I do not walk on a leash regularly and do require a specific harness for leash walking right now. I will need a lot more practice, but my foster family thinks that I will have not an issue with leash walking at all.

So stairs and heights get an honorable mention. I am a work in progress with stairs. I can handle one or two so far, but not an entire staircase at once. Heights elude me, so please do not leave me on a couch or a bed. I could take a tumble. Ouch! I’m a little gal and these are areas that I will conquer in my own time. 

Being in a home with another canine companion has helped me so much that I think I would do fine as an only dog child-as long as you're ready to give me lots of attention! Having a fur sibling would be great, too! I'm great with all dogs, but have found I like the ones around my size the best.

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
